Third Wedding Anniversary & A Photo Shoot

For the first time since our wedding, we had pictures taken of us.

What better time than for our 3rd year wedding anniversary?

See that good lookin' guy? That is Jeffrey...my husband...in case you're new here and haven't seen him around yet.

I love him. He brings out the best in me.

Sometimes Jeff is silly, and sometimes he makes me want to throw a {playful} punch {i.e. 3rd picture}

I can't imagine life without my better half.

Although we are celebrating our 3rd anniversary, I feel like we have another reason to celebrate. It's been right at about one year since we started actually growing in our relationship...like really growing.

These last few months, Jeff keeps looking at me and saying "I can't believe how much we have grown in our marriage."
And I reply "Yeah...it's been crazy." or something like that.

Don't get me wrong...we have a l-o-n-g way to go.

If we can learn, grow, and change so much in one year, then think how much we can change in the next 5, 15, 55 years?

Growing is hard and painful. When we started making decisions to change things for the better, that's when crap really started happening. It's funny how that works. {Okay, it's not really funny.}

It's hard to be happy when "stuff" happens. It's never fun, but when it does happen, I'm learning to be thankful for it and press onward.

I make the choice to get better or to get bitter.

Oh believe me I've been bitter. depressed. anxious. depressed. bitter. and depressed. But that didn't help. I am such a slow learner.

All that to say that I am very thankful for how the Lord has grown us this past year. I know we have probably our hardest years ahead of us ~ especially if the Lord chooses to bless us with children ~ but we are stronger now and ready for the next challenge.

Jeff has been out of town a lot lately for work. He was out of town last week, and he's out of town this whole week as well...kind of a bummer since it's our anniversary, but we are planning a little "stay-cation" poolside this weekend, so you don't have to feel sorry for us.

Thanks for stopping by.

Pictures were taken by the wonderful Mary Beth of Annapolis. She also wrote a post about the photo shoot {here}

I am going to be posting the rest of the pictures from the photo shoot on Facebook, so feel free to stop by there and say hey.

  4. These are so beautiful. Isn't it great to feel that in love. My husband and I are about to celebrate our ten year anniversary and I have been having a hard time trying to find traditional anniversary gifts by year.
