Lava Flow Recipe

I have been in the mood for slushies, smoothies, and Juliuses a lot lately. Lava Flows have been on my list of cold drinks to make for a while, but I just got around to making some recently. I had pinned a couple of different lava flow recipes on Pinterest, but I didn't completely follow either of them {see here and here}. Here's the recipe that I came up with:

First of all, what is a lava flow? It's basically a pina colada and strawberry daiquiri mix. This recipe is for virgin lava flows.

Ingredients

Pina Colada ::
2 Tablespoons Cream of Coconut {in the can}
1 cup pineapple {fresh, frozen, or in the can}
1/2 banana {optional variation}
1/2 cup ice
3/4 cup half and half

Strawberry Daiquiri ::
1 cup strawberries {frozen or fresh}
1 cup milk
1 Tablespoon sugar {optional}
1 cup ice

Garnish ::
pineapple slice
fresh strawberry

*This recipe makes 2 servings
**These measurements are simply guidelines. I like my cold drinks thick and creamy!

Directions ::

1 :: Make your pina colada. Dump the ice, cream of coconut, pineapple and banana into the blender. puree until smooth. Add the half and half until mixture turns white {approximately 3/4 cup}. Set aside.

2:: Rinse out blender. Dump another 1/2 cup ice, strawberries, milk, and sugar into blender and puree until smooth.

Fill your cups halfway with the pina colada and the rest of the way with the strawberry daiquiri, garnish, and enjoy!
