The 4th of July weekend was probably not as restful as we would have hoped, but we did get a whole lot done! We traded fireworks for a nail gun and calk, hot dogs for sandwiches from Quik Trip, and swimming for trying to fix our garden hose (that Paris chewed through a few weeks ago). I love the feeling of accomplishment after a long day's work...it beats the feeling I get after I've laid around all day. Ugh.
Anyways, here are some pictures of some of the things we accomplished this weekend:
"Before" shots of the kitchen ceiling:
In progress!
The bead board is up!
I told Jeff that if he wore those black socks with his shorts, then I would have to take a picture and put it up on my blog. He said "bring it" so here it is
And it's done!
Oops! Paris slipped in there :) She's getting big, isn't she?
Jeff installed a dimmer switch! Ya!
I found an ugly picture frame at a garage sale for 50 cents. I painted the glass with chalkboard paint and then painted the frame Araucana Teal.
It's hard to pass up 50% off candles at Bath and Body Works! My house smells like a flower shop :)
I painted some old black candle pedestals the same Araucana Teal and put them above my cabinets for now.
This is what my mantle looks like right now...it changes quite often.
While Jeff did the majority of the work on the kitchen ceiling, my biggest project was turning our middle room from a storage room into a guest bedroom. I'll post pictures on that later though.
Oh my goodness those ceilings are fantastic!
ReplyDeleteAnd I love your white fire place!
Thank you, Kaitlyn! It was all Jeff!
ReplyDeleteI absolutely LOVE the rug in the living room!!! Where did you find that gem? Everything looks so awesome...you guys are quite the talented pair! :-)
ReplyDeleteThanks, Marybeth! I found that when I went to Memphis last month! It was at the West Elm outlet for only $130!
ReplyDeleteWow!!! Good deal! I kinda want to steal it. ;-) {Just kidding.}
ReplyDeleteEverything looks AWESOME!!!!! Can't wait to see pics of the guest bedroom!
