I hope you all had a wonderful Labor Day weekend! My hubby and I took a short trip south to Dallas where we {I} enjoyed shopping at the Galleria, IKEA, and many (!) antique shops. We discovered one antique shop that had 12,500 square feet of space that was packed out with treasures. We both left a little overwhelmed!
When we got home, I was anxious to start knocking some things off my to-do list before the weekend was over. I had several unfinished projects that just needed wrapping up, and I had a couple of others that I couldn't wait to start.
{Jeff gets a little nervous when I get into my project mode. He always has one eye on his belongings...I've been dying to paint his desk, but I wouldn't hear the end of it if I did.}
Anyways, first on the agenda was assembling the hardware for the dining room curtains.
- Finials {found at Goodwill awhile back for a couple of bucks}
- Wooden dowel from Lowe's {1 1/4" X 48" - $3}
- Unfinished wall-mount brackets from Hobby Lobby {3" extension from wall - $5}
- Primer and Paint {I used an off-white spray paint - $4}
Before...
...And after
I got the curtains on sale from IKEA {LENDA - $20 for both panels} and I doubled them up with LILL curtains to add some frill and body.
Total cost - $39 for curtains and hardware. Not too shabby!
Stay tuned for pics of my first wreath project ever!!! It's been a blast to make and I'm almost done!
cute! that is a great addition to that room!
ReplyDeleteI LOVE how the rod turned out that is such a great idea to make them on your own as opposed to buying them! I like yours so much more than the store bought ones for sure! And really you could have easily spent 39 dollars on just the rod alone to get that great look so I think you did an amazing job! :o) I am so glad that you linked your project up to crafty scrappy happy me via Lucy (my co-hosts blog) so that I could come over here and get to know you too! Looks like you are one talented gal! I am for sure a new follower!

It looks wonderful. This is a great idea. I have some wooden curtain rods now and I think they need a splash of spray paint.
