Christmas Mantle

I realized that in my last post about my Christmas decor I didn't share any full shots of the fireplace. Fireplaces are a lot of fun to decorate! Jeff and I haven't gotten around to a lot of the home projects on our list, but I'm so glad we made painting the brick a priority (check out my posts here and here for the before, during, and after pictures). It makes a huge difference in the room. 

There is certainly an art to decorating a fireplace mantle. I always think things will be so much easier than they really are. You can't just throw stuff up on your mantle...well, some people can and it looks great, but I definitely cannot. I always over think things...

Sometimes I get frustrated when the vignette doesn't turn out like I saw it in my mind's eye. But, hey, I'm learning!
