So, a while ago, I picked up a little side table that someone had thrown in the dumpster {yes, I went dumpster diving!}. From the front, it looked alright....
...but, as you can see, the back corner was quite busted up {gone}. I have a hard time resisting free, though, so I loaded it up in the back of my car and brought 'er home. I had no idea how I was going to fix that corner, but I knew that Jeff would be able to figure it out! {He LOVES it when I bring stuff like this home....not}.
After some reinforcing and coaching, Jeff handed me some wood filler and turned it over to me. I wouldn't exactly say that it turned out as well I was hoping, but it is still usable. With the damaged corner up against the wall, it's really not that noticeable.
I did some custom paint mixing on this piece {homemade chalk paint + craft paint}. The color combo reminds me of the South...I can't get that out of my head. I wanted it to be more mustard-y. Oh well.
I've been posting a few sneak peeks of my "new" couch on my Facebook page, but for those of you who don't follow me there, here is a picture for you!
Oh, and thank you for your patience while I'm working on getting things spruced up around here! I hope to have the blog looking just the way I want it in the next few days...but it's a hard task for this html challenged girl!

LOVE the end table!!!!!
ReplyDeleteJust curious ... how do you treat your dumpster, road-side, and thrift finds to ensure that they aren't bringing bed-bugs along with them? I can't figure out what to do to make 2nd hand stuff (which I LOVE) feel "safe" anymore.
