Drop Cloth Bandwagon

I am on the drop cloth bandwagon...it's official.
I made these drapes out of drop cloths and I love how they turned out.
{and if I can do it, you can do it!}

Nothing fancy...I just wanted something cheap, neutral, and easy...and drop cloths fit the bill.

Here are some other fun things you can do with drop cloths.

Drop cloth placemat by Jenna from SAS Interiors.

DIY grain sack kitchen barstool cushions by Marian of Mustard Seed Interiors {directions here}

This Thanksgiving tablecloth is made out of - you guessed it - a drop cloth and a sharpie! Check out the full tutorial here by Becca of Blue Cricket Design.

I believe this striped table runner was made with canvas, but you can easily substitute a drop cloth. See the tutorial here.

A stencil + craft paint opens up a whole realm of possibilities...

Carmel from Our Fifth House made these stenciled drapes. She put together a fabulous tutorial on painting drop cloth {she has some great tips in her post!}.

The DIY Showoff has a fabulous tutorial for making this Pottery Barn knockoff headboard.

Marian of Mustard Seed Interiors has several amazing tutorials for making slipcovers. You can find the directions for making the above chair slipcover here

Another fun option is to dye the entire drop cloth. {prep the fabric with Rit color remover - can be found at Walmart - and then dye with Rit dye according to directions}. I have not yet tried doing this, so I cannot share any personal experience! :)

My next drop cloth project is to make slip covers for these two wing backs that I found at a garage sale this past weekend.

I'm going to go pop some popcorn and watch Miss Mustard Seed's 6 part video tutorial on making drop cloth slipcovers!

Could you see yourself using drop cloths? What would you make?
