We're Buying a House!

After nearly two years of apartment living, we are buying our first place. It's all happening so fast! We just moved into this apartment at the beginning of January, and we have already put in our notice to move out at the end of April. It's so exciting and a little nerve-wracking all at the same time!

The whole idea that we could possibly  buy a house at this point in our life popped into my head when I heard about a 100% financing loan. Anyone who has purchased a house before - or who has seriously looked into purchasing one - knows that nothing about the process is easy or cheap! There are fees hidden EVERYWHERE!  We are probably paying for some lawyer to sneeze on our paperwork right now...who really knows? Anyways, the 100% financing loan allows people like us who don't have thousands and thousands of dollars saved up to afford to buy a house.

To make a long story short, after hearing about this loan, Jeff and I talked about it and we decided to get pre-approved.  We got in touch with a Realtor (who we LOVE, by the way)  and two days later we put an offer on a bargain of a house! The negotiating process was definitely a learning experience and an emotional roller coaster!

The house is a minor fixer-upper and I can't wait to get started on all of the projects! Our to-do list is growing rapidly. C'mon Closing Day!!!!!

Pictures coming soon!

  2. Morning Emily,
Thanks so much for visiting my little blog and for the sweet comment on my farmhouse kitchen restyle. It was a lot of work, but not hard work. You can create the kitchen of your dreams and for very little money. Just be creative and don't try to do too much all at once.

Lowes.com is offering a money off coupon that you can print out at home...do it! Every penny counts ;-> (today is the last day)

Look for Ooops paint (mistakes) at your home improvement stores. Locate all the thrift shops in your area as they can be a fabulous source for all the decorative extras and cheap!

See a shelf or picture frame, but don't like the wood or the color..SPRAY PAINT!!

Most of all, have fun and take lots of b4 and after photos.

Good luck in your new home and come visit anytime
