My entryway needs a makeover....a serious makeover. {But is it really called a "makeover" when nothing has ever been done to it??? Maybe I just need to "make" my entryway.} Anyways, here are some pictures of the entry in it's current sad state.
You walk in the door and you are met by a cheap, plain, stark white closet door. If you look closely, you can see how the people who painted this house just painted right over the hinges on both the front and closet door. Really?
Here is the view from the living room. I would love to tear that ugly half wall out, but of course it is a supporting wall. As you can see, there isn't much room, so I'm going to have to get super creative!
I've been drawing inspiration from Pinterest lately. I have found lots of dreamy entryways, but for now, I'll stick to showing you ideas that I could possibly implement into my current space. {Warning! lots of pictures coming your way!}
This church pew would fit nicely against our half wall. It would technically be in the living room, but that's ok with me.
Maybe some kind of small, unique table would fit to the left of the closet door. Not sure...might block the flow of traffic.
Hmmm... I only want a table in the entry for an excuse to create a lovely vignette.
Lemon tree? Ok maybe not.
I need to do something with that blank closet door {buying a new one isn't an option right now}!
Hang a wreath?
Basket?
Wall Decal?
Last, but not least, a new light fixture is needed! The one below is my personal favorite, but at $400, it's a tad out of my price range.
This light is fun! I don't know where it's from though.
And it might help if I could decide on a color to paint the walls. It's kind of a big project to decide on the color because the dining room, living room, entry and hall are all connected. Hmmm. Lots of thinking {and $$$} is needed for this space. Any ideas from you would be so helpful!
Am I missing an element that would help make this space better?
Whatcha got for me?
Girl! You need to totally play up that door! I don't know what you store in there, but removing it is also a great option. I can see it all in my head, but it's too long to write in a comment and too late to go searching for things on the web that match my mental picture. You need to come over! :-)
ReplyDeleteI would love to hear your ideas, Marybeth! We do need to get together! :0)
