Recent Instagram {iPhone} Pictures

I realized that I haven't done an "iPhone dump" on here in a while! Instagram is a fun way to let you know what's going on in our life via pictures.

Sweet almond oil is what I have recently started substituting for my face lotion {only at night}. It has helped my dry, acne-prone skin. Love it. I also made some homemade make up remover whipes with it and it works beautifully!

A long time ago I read in the HGTV catalog that adding a surprising element to your entry way -  like a copper boot tray - is a fun way to add a welcoming touch. I've wanted this boot tray from Target ever since. I will break down and buy it one day.

I wrote about this mod podge project here.

Once you make one chalkboard, it's hard to stop. I whipped up some home made chalkboard paint out of a sample paint color that I picked up from Home Depot. It's from the Martha Stewart line, and it's a very, very light blue - almost white.

If you live in the Tulsa area, you need to check out Old School Bagel Cafe. It pretty much makes Panera bagels taste like cardboard. And their Snickerdoodle cookies? Yep...amazing.

I have really enjoyed some of the cooler weather that we have been getting!

emily, old burlap wreath, diy, front door
If the sad state of this wreath was not reason enough to make a new one, then maybe a LIVING thing nesting in it is enough reason...I don't know? Please humor me while I relate this story...
We were coming home from somewhere one night...Jeff unlocks the door and goes inside. I'm close behind...I wasn't paying attention {probably on my phone} when all the sudden something flew at me and hit me in the chest. {let's pause...if you know me, then you are aware that I HATE flying things...bats, June bugs, and nasty birds are at the top of the list.} I started freaking out because I thought it had gone down my shirt {sorry, neighbors!}. Jeff is yelling at me {as I am standing out on the porch screaming and dancing} because evidently it wasn't down my shirt, but in the house. And by "it", I mean a bird. A nasty bird. Jeff grabs the broom and is chasing it around our living room while I'm helping him outside on the porch yelling "Get it!!!! GET. IT. NOW. " I could hear breaking glass and Jeff whooping like an indian in there, but I didn't care. Just please get that thing out of the house! A few minutes later, a little sparrow flies back through the front door. Thank goodness! Jeff really did scare the you-know-what out of that crazy bird because it left a nice little gift for me on the floor. Besides that, a cheap vase was the only other casualty.
That was the moment that I decided to make a new wreath.

And here is my mess as I make a new wreath for the front door.wheat wreath, diy, putting down roots blog

Jeff travels a good bit for work, so I'm always happy when he's home and we get to spend some quality time together on a date.

Here's us picking out glasses. I don't know that kid, but he was cracking me up.

I'm wearing my glasses every other day for now so I can get used to them. It's been SO long since I've work glasses regularely. It's nice to give my eyes a break from contacts.

So, here's a question for you...Is there an easy way to get your iPhone pictures uploaded to the computer? It sounds so easy, but I have not found a smooth way to do it yet. This time, I tried uploading my pictures to Photobucket through my Photobucket app and then uploading them to this post. BUT, I think I'm making this way more difficult than it needs to be. Please tell me I'm correct.
